The base is deep sea water drawn from roughly 5,000 feet below Korea’s East Sea. Round Lab lists 72 trace minerals in it, magnesium, calcium and zinc among them, plus a protease enzyme that exfoliates without physical scrubbing or an acid. No added fragrance, and no drying alcohol high on the list.

In r/AsianBeauty and similar communities it is a standard recommendation for reactive or easily irritated skin, often as the first step back into a routine after a flare. It is thin and watery, though, so anyone wanting a richer feel should look at Torriden or Anua.

3Torriden Dive-In Hyaluronic Acid Toner: Best for Hydration

Torriden’s Dive-In uses five molecular sizes of hyaluronic acid, which the brand calls its 5D complex. Torriden’s own description is that the larger molecules lock in moisture at the surface while the smaller ones absorb more easily and carry hydration deeper.

Reviewers describe the texture as more cushioned than a typical watery formula, with a light tackiness that fades as it absorbs. Many say it stopped their skin feeling tight after cleansing. Hwahae, the Korean review app, rates it 4.8 from about 36,000 reviews in its 2026 toner ranking, the highest score of any pick here that Hwahae ranks.

Round Lab’s toner has the deeper pool on that same ranking, roughly 95,000 reviews, but sits lower at 4.43. Torriden wins on rating, Round Lab on sheer volume.

One note on the label: Torriden makes no explicit fragrance-free or alcohol-free claim on its own product page, though neither appears in the ingredient list. Round Lab and Anua state it outright. Toner pads are pre-soaked cotton discs that combine hydration, light exfoliation and a swipe-on application in one step. Woman & Home covered the format as a 2026 phenomenon in January, and the appeal is mostly speed: a pad replaces a cotton round plus a bottle.

For dry skin, start with Torriden’s Dive-In Hyaluronic Acid Toner (pick 3), $22.99 for 300ml on Weee! (8 October). Jumiso’s Waterfull Hyaluronic Toner costs less per millilitre and adds a ceramide. If your skin stings or reddens as well as feeling tight, Abib’s Heartleaf Calming Toner Skin Booster, which leads with heartleaf like Anua’s pick 1, is the one to try.

Alcohol is the first thing to check on a toner for dry skin. Curology’s guidance on alcohol denat explains why drying alcohols high on an ingredient list are a problem for skin that is already short on oil. None of these three lists ethanol or alcohol denat.

Jumiso Waterfull Hyaluronic Toner. Its ingredient list carries six forms of hyaluronic acid next to ceramide NP and the centella compounds madecassoside and asiaticoside, so it pulls water in and supports the barrier that holds it. Vitacost had it at $17.60 for 250ml on 8 October, the lowest cost per millilitre of the three. Buyers rate it highly: StyleKorean shows 4.7 stars from 355 reviews.

Abib Heartleaf Calming Toner Skin Booster. Heartleaf extract is the headline ingredient, listed right after water in the current ingredient list, with centella, soybean extract and hyaluronic acid further down. The $22.36 YesStyle price for 200ml (8 October) was a 20 percent promotion off $27.95, and by 14 October the same listing showed $18.40 off $23, so check the current price before buying.

Etude House’s Moistfull Collagen Facial Toner doesn’t clear the alcohol check. Soko Glam’s listing puts “Alcohol” fifth in its ingredients and Vitacost’s shows “Alcohol denat.” in the same early position, in a different order, so the two retailers don’t even agree on the formula.

The best Korean toners for glass skin

For a glass-skin finish, I’m From Rice Toner (pick 8) is the best-known choice, and Anua’s Rice 70 Glow Milky Toner is the better value at 8.8 cents per millilitre against I’m From’s 18.7. Glass skin describes a finish any skin type can work toward: smooth, even and light-reflecting. The four toners below get there by different routes, from stacked hyaluronic acid to milky, ceramide-backed textures, at very different prices.

Price and formula don’t track each other here. Anua’s milky toner is the cheapest per millilitre and lists three ceramides (NP, AP and EOP). Laneige’s Cream Skin costs about 2.4 times as much per millilitre for one ceramide and a peptide. Biodance’s First Synergy Toner lists eight forms of hyaluronic acid (the brand markets a ten-type complex) but has only a small review base so far, so it stays out of the table until more buyers have had their say.

Like innisfree’s green tea toners below, Haruharu Wonder’s Black Rice toner comes in two versions. The original lists alcohol, lavender oil and linalool, and linalool is one of the fragrance allergens that EU labelling rules require brands to name above 0.001 percent in leave-on products. If fragrance bothers your skin, the brand’s Free of Alcohol & Fragrance version costs the same $18. Beauty of Joseon’s Ginseng Essence Water is the pick when uneven tone matters more than hydration.

Two innisfree green tea toners, two different formulas

Innisfree’s Green Tea Balancing Toner keeps appearing on generic best-of lists, and it is one of the Korean toners shoppers are most likely to have already seen.

The catch is that innisfree sells several similarly named green tea toners and they are not the same formula.

The Balancing Skin Ex version lists Fragrance/Parfum in its ingredients, while the plain Balancing Skin version is listed as fragrance-free. Two bottles with nearly identical front labels, one with added fragrance and one without.

Neither version is a bad product, and plenty of reviewers with normal to oily skin like the light, cooling finish. But it means “get the innisfree green tea toner” is not specific enough to act on. If fragrance matters to you, check the ingredient list on the exact bottle, or go with Round Lab’s Dokdo Toner or Anua’s Heartleaf Toner, neither of which lists fragrance.
